AlphaGeek TV interview at GnomeDex. “It’s LOVE!”

At the welcoming party for this year’s GnomeDex, I caught up with the excellent John Hartman who I’ve met before at GnomeDex and in Second Life. He interviewed me for AlphaGeek TV

He wanted to know all about the Twitteromance between Efisia (my now fiancee!) and I :)

So, I talk about aaaaaall that :) and then cover a load of things like Second Life blogging and using trees of media to manage podcast networks and build the Web 3.0 concept of ‘Social Multimedia Networking‘ using OPML.

K95 #1 : My New Nokia N95 is a Podcasting device!

OK. Here’s the first in a series of tests using my brand-spanking new Nokia N95 ‘pocket computer’ (phone)

K95 cast 1 test [noklog]

This was sooo easy!

1. Record (up to 1 hour) using built-in Voice Recorder.
2. Upload via web browser and WiFi.
3. Enter details in form.
4. Done!

The built-in voice recorder records in WAV format when set to high quality. The noklog system optionally converts that to mp3 and updates the entry and the RSS feed.

Now, that’s what I call portable media. ;)

Just you wait until I get a GPS fix on this baby!

Happy Birthday Scripting News

Arguably the long-running weblog in the World, Dave Winer’s Scripting News turns 10 years old today.

Happy Birthday! Keep diggin’. And Thanks Dave.

Two years ago today, I was sat with Dave in a bar in New York, drinking coffee and doing a podcast. Two years! Wow. How time flies!

It’s also Frontier‘s 19th Birthday too, btw.

Odeo For Sale

Check it out, Ev Williams has posted that Odeo, their podcasting system is up for sale/partnership.

I think this is great. I wonder how many users Odeo has?

Podcast.com is doing about a tenth of the traffic they state over there, [Uniques: 66,765 Page views: 294,867 over the last 30 days at podcast.com] which I think is not bad considering there are only 4 or five registered users of podcast.com so far, for testing – and three of them are me! ;)

This is encouraging for when we open the doors to sign up. Odeo has some great technology behind their system. In fact I am off out not to see a friend’s company who have just developed something similar – using Open Source ;)

It’s way past time that I met Ev and had a ‘createc’ chat ;)

I’m also interested on how that list of post below his was generated. At first I thought it was a blogger.com thing onlw. Now as I see techment and tailrack in there I know it’s now.  But it is more then simple trackback, as far as I can see. I could be wrong – please correct me. ta.

This one is more focussed on my Second Life. Still a bit of a ramble (just the way I like it) – tangential thoughts and ideas. No outline. Podcasting by the seat of my (flexi) pants! Woo!

I made the intro music here, using sounds that the UI makes, along with some beats and stuff I threw in there ;) Hope you like it!
