Over on my OPML blog I was able to knock together a quick hack to solve a problem (or at least a start) to giving GapingVoid's Hugh MacLeod a widget to display his cartoons.

I shall call them 'Widgetoons' !!

I can't post the widget on this blog (shame) but here's the image Hugh posted to errrr…. celebrate. *i think!*

Now the wonderfully bonkers Comic Strip Blogger wants one too!

I’ve been building a blogging tool recently which is going to take over all my blogging and podcasting duties. It’s sliiiick.

Great fun yesterday upstairs in a pub in London with a load of UK podcasters. Great to see people again and meet new people too!

Just playing around with the new MacMini and the ComicLife application. Fun! I like it!

There used to be a comic app I used to play with years ago, but you couldn’t add photos as easily back then (or take them digitally, come to think of it!) – hours of fun. The old Microsoft ComicChat was fun too. Whatever happened to that?

More of this nonsense to come. I bet someone has already written an online verison of this which automatically pulls in images from flickr based on the words in the panels???

So, I went and bought myself a nice new MacMini to use a home dev box and for some other video stuff. So, I unpack it all and plug it all in, and the power button:

*BONG* it said, and happily went about welcoming me in lots of different languages. Then we start setting it up and saying what language and keyboard I have…. THEN…

…. *NOTHING*. It just turned off! And i WONT TURN BACK ON! WTF!!?????

The power brick seems to be buzzing gently, so that’s OK. But the MacMini just will NOT TURN ON AT ALL!!!

I am PISSED OFF!! It means I’m going to have to traipse back into town tomorrow to replace it.

I found a couple of pages online for troubleshooting (after TWO BLEEDIN’ MINUTES!!) if your MacMini won’t turn on. But they do not fix my problem. This sucks. BIG time.

Apple! WHAT THE F*CK??????? It’s CRAPPLE, so far!!! GRRRR!! Not a good first experience. At all.
