Google Reader’s ‘feed-splicing’. Why don’t they call it a Reading List anywhere? Nice though, that they have a JavaScript snippet to be able to pump a mini-rivulet through your blog template - mmm : expect to see alot more of this soon. Microformats.

“Reading List” as used by the rest of the aggregation community refers to Dave Winer’s initiative where you can generate an OPML file listing feeds that an aggregator subscribes to and (indirectly) displays the contents of those feeds. While our sharing feature achieves a similar result (going straight a feed instead of using OPML), there would be confusion if we used the same name.

Though to be fair we did say in the blog post:

“you can put a clip on your blog with recent items from your reading list”

    See we mentioned reading list!
